The latest post from Ask Ausiello at EW about Supernatural has stirred up some feelings in the comments section of the blog.
The article basically says that the creator of Supernatural Eric Kripke wants to end the current Supernatural story at the end of season 5 and then if the show gets renewed start a new one from season 6. H cites Buffy and The X Files as shows being able to re boot.
Now I don't actually watch Supernatural (I'd like to but I think it would be just too scary for me!!) and personally I think the show should end with a bang like said in the post. However the reasons the article really annoyed me and plenty of others was by saying that Buffy "limped to the finish."
Now I severely disagree with this statement. Whilst Buffy may have not been quite as good in later seasons, it still maintained most of it's quality throughout. The series finale in particular was an amazing ending to the show, giving both a kick-ass fight plus a sense of hope and finality for the characters.
There are some Buffy fans who say that the show should've ended at season 5, but I could not think of a more depressing ending for such a good show. I bet that everyone who says it should have ended at s5, if it actually had, would've been clamouring for a sixth season.

Interesting piece there. If Supernatural has enough stories for a sixth season, they should do one but if not, then end it with the fifth season.
I don't think Buffy limped towards an unsatisfying finish. I prefer Chosen over Not Fade Away any time and while Seasons 6 and 7 weren't perfect, they were still enjoyable enough for me.
